CenturyLink executive Andrew Dugan to share network infrastructure insights during two roundtable sessions at PTC ’18

MONROE, La., Jan. 19, 2018 – Andrew Dugan, senior vice president, technology planning, network architecture and security, CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL), will participate in two executive roundtable sessions where he will discuss how network infrastructure is evolving as a result of cloud computing and increased bandwidth demands to support data flow growth at the PTC ’18 conference being held Jan 21 – 24 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu.

Roundtable details:

Title:    Software Defined…Everything
Description:    Concepts such as virtualization and software-defined infrastructure are foundational elements of cloud computing. Enterprise adoption of cloud computing is driving ”as-a-service” consumption models in all aspects of IT, so it’s not surprising these same concepts have found their way into the telecommunications market. Instantaneous provisioning and dynamic bandwidth allocation are the holy grail of wide-area networking. To date, however, provider revenues for SD-WAN services and associated revenues from SDN technology vendors remains relatively modest compared to traditional networking products and services. At the same time, analysts predict dramatic growth in SD-WAN services revenues. What are the technical challenges to realizing an SD-WAN future? What’s the business case for a service provider to make large investments in a technology that promises even lower prices? What options exist in the market, both in terms of the available technology and the services offered?
Where:   Mid-Pacific Conference Center, South Pacific 1
When:   Sunday, Jan. 21 from 3:30 – 5:00 PM

Title     Data Deluge: Meeting Data Center and Network Challenges
Description:    In this age of increasing volumes of content, digital media, AI, AR, and more, the digital economy will continue to drive us in many different directions. As we strive to keep up with this constant change and increased data flow, how should our respective businesses evolve? Data uses continue to expand in everyday life, from curing cancer to developing autonomous vehicles and solving many of the world’s most complex challenges. How do we form the right global partnerships to handle the ever-increasing deluge of data? How do we guarantee that critical data is being securely and efficiently passed to end-users/subscribers? Learn how the increasing demand for data and technological advances will shape our collective future.
Where: Mid-Pacific Conference Center, Coral 1
When:  Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2:00 – 3:15 PM
